dynamics (in terms of population size), but in a spatially explicit manner. That is, we
set the model to correctly estimate all three subpopulations in aggregate.
Colorado River Population
The only estimates of adult CS abundance comes from mark-recapture estimates in the
Colorado River arm of the upper Colorado River Basin (Osmundson and Burnham
1996). We selected survivorship values (means and variances) based on the
estimated parameter values where they existed- and added parameter values where we
had no estimates to mimic the population estimates and dynamics reported by
Osmundson (1996). This simulation is depicted in Figure 2.
