substantial presence of both Colorado squawfish and razorback
suckers at the Duchesne River-Green River confluence (Interagency
Standardized Monitoring Program database).
Due to the increasing need to provide instream flows for endangered
fishes in the Green River, and because of the historical and more
recent evidence of populations of these fishes in the Duchesne
River, a fisheries study was undertaken by the Utah Division of
Wildlife Resources (UDWR) n the spring of 1993 on the lower
Duchesne River.- Although such a survey effort had been discussed
for several years, it was not until 1993 that flows in the Duchesne
River were high enough to allow boat access to a substantial reach
of the river.
Funding for 1993 fisheries investigations on the Duchesne River was
provided to UDWR by the Central Utah Water Conservancy District.
3
