Data are not continuous due to equipment loss and failure. However, main channel <br />temperatures aze continuous from July 1993 through June, 1996, and backwater data aze available <br />from at least one backwater throughout most of that period. May through July 1993 backwater <br />information is unfortunately missing, as aze main channel data from July toOctober, 1996. <br />USGS temperatures are instantaneous, and were taken at any time between 800 and 1400. The <br />thermograph readings were taken every two hours, from which average, maximum and minimum <br />daily temperature was calculated. Degree days were calculated from May 1 to October 30 of each <br />yeaz, when data were available. For each yeaz, this time period encompassed (within a week on <br />-15- <br />
