Recently analyzed potential long-term
employment by sector, earnings, output and population growth resulting from water
development in two rural counties in northwestern Colorado. Alternative
methodologies were developed based upon the economic base approach and the input-
output approach and results of the two approaches were compared.
Colorado Springs Economic and Demographic Studies. In 1992-93, Mr. Jeavons was
the lead analyst in developing the forecasting model and preparing socioeconomic
projections for the Colorado Springs Utilities and Pikes Peak Area Council of
Governments. Developed detailed employment and demographic forecasts for the
County through 2040, population and employment projections by Traffic Analysis
Zone (TAZ) for year 2000, and post-1990 Census estimates of actual population
growth to date.
• Grand Canyon Visibility Transport Commission Studies. During 1994 and 1995, Mr.
Jeavons performed a number of economic analyses on behalf of the Grand Canyon
Visibility Transport Commission. In one component of this work, Mr. Jeavons evaluated
state forecasts and projections developed using the REMI model for 11 western states.
Presented evaluation of strengths and weaknesses of alternative forecasting approaches
to state demographers and other interested parties in large public forum.

t

1
1

Rangely Hydropower Financial Analyses. This study, now nearly complete, has involved an examination of
hydrologic profiles and projection of future power sales revenues and costs of
operation for the "run of the river" hydroelectric station.
EDUCATION
M.A., Economics, University of Colorado, 1992.
Fields of specialization: Quantitative methods and natural resource economics
B.A., International Affairs, Lewis and Clazk College, 1984.
BBC Research & Consulting III - 15
