<br />1 For the State of Colorado <br />the impacts of energy development upon six <br /> , <br />counties and several communities and school districts were evaluated. There <br /> was detailed analysis and public sector facility costs associated with various <br /> increments of population growth. This research lead to the two volume <br /> report, Boom Town Financing Study. <br /> • BBC prepared the socioeconomic inputs to the Quail Mountain EIS. This <br /> included area of impact definition, delineation of baseline conditions and <br /> impact assessment. <br /> • More than 20 comprehensive socioeconomic studies have been accomplished <br /> in Campbell County, Wyoming. Socioeconomic inputs to U.S.G.S. mine plans <br /> were prepared for Gulf Minerals and Mobil. In addition, Wyoming Industrial <br />' Siting Applications have been prepared for Atlantic Richfield, Mobil, Carter <br /> Coal (Exxon) and Peabody Coal. Baseline analyses and projections have <br /> been prepared for each assignment. Mitigation measures were also an <br /> important consideration. <br /> Capabilities and Experience in Tourism, Resort and Recreation Analysis <br /> BBC has developed a strong and diverse base of expertise related to modeling and <br /> projecting tourist visits, visitor spending, and analyzing broader economic effects of <br /> tourism, resorts and recreation. <br /> <br /> • The effects of air pollution control strategies, designed to improve air quality <br /> at major national parks in the western United States, upon tourism <br />' throughout the West are currently being evaluated for a consortium of state <br /> governments and Indian tribal leaders. BBC is examining the relationships of <br /> National Park visitations to other tourist activities, such as gaming and the <br /> economy of the western U. S. as a whole. One focus is upon the potential <br />' changes in visitation behavior, expenditure patterns, and intrinsic <br /> satisfaction driven by changes in air quality. As part of this assignment, the <br /> reasons that people travel to the national parks and the economic effects of <br /> those travels are being examined. <br /> • Worked with Routt County <br />Colorado in assessing the fiscal impacts of the <br /> , <br />proposed Lake Catamount Resort development and in structuring a <br /> county/developer service agreement. <br />• Summit County, Colorado experience extends over twelve year period <br />including, fiscal impact studies, numerous market evaluations and various <br />roles in the formation of public private partnerships ... evaluated economic <br />impact of affordable housing project (Wintergreen); fiscal impact of new <br />' Snake River Valley Master Plan (Interwest); economic value of Breckenridge <br />snowmaking proposal (USFS). <br />' • Retained by Town of Aspen and consortium of not-for-profits to develop <br />strategic/financial plan for long term use of Aspen Meadows property (home <br />of the Aspen Institute) ... included financial feasibility study of hotel and <br />conference business. <br />• EIS work includes critique of new resort feasibility study (Army Corps of <br />Engineers, Adam's Rib), initial impact analysis for new ski area (USFS, Quail <br />BBC Research & Consulting <br />Ill - 9 <br />
