1
In general, the fish listed above were as expected, although the collec-
tion of twelve razorback suckers vas somewhat of a surprise. It vas known this
species had been collected from the San Juan arm prtvioosly but not in such
relatively high numbers. Ten of the twelve fish collected were taken from a
ssiall cove on the south end of the reservoir at approziaately river rile -1.0.
This cove is where the newly built boat ramp is located. Most of these fish
shoved evidence of being sezually ripe, with the sales having developed obvious
tuberculations on the caudal and anal fins. The testes were also easily
expressed with sild external pressure. The fes~ales all appeared to be 'heavy'
with eggs. On several occasions, razorbacks released up to 1 mile away were
subsequently recaptured within the original cove, providing additional evidence
that this group of fish vas a spawning aggregation. Compared to razorbacks
collected from other areas, these fish were all in excellent physical shape.
One adult Colorado sgaavfish vas collected from a floating 2 1/2" gill net
from the north side o€ reservoir at approximately river rile -1.2. The sez of
the fish could not be determined. After being individually tagged, all of
these fish were released back into the lake in apparent good condition. A list
of all the rare fish collected during the spring sampling period is presented
below.

18
