o Construction specifications would include measures to.
minimize or eliminate adverse effects to the surrounding
lands and streams. Borrow pits for construction materials
for the dam would be taken from the area that would be
inundated and from spillway excavation areas to the
maximum extent possible. This would increase the storage
capacity of the proposed reservoir and would eliminate the
necessity to rehabilitate and restore vegetation in those
areas. Disturbed and scarred areas above the pogl .would
be rehabilitated by grading and revegetation.
o The construction specifications would include measures to
control adverse effects. Measures to protect trees,
prevent water and air pollution, control turbidity and
dust, and cleanup and disposal of garbage, refuse, human
waste, oil, or other pollutants would be .included.
Precautions to maintain strea~i flow and prevent
contamination of streams during construction would be
exercised.
o The potential eligibility of prehistoric cultural sites
for nomination to the National Register of Historic Places
would be confirmed by further testing for significant
subsurface cultural materials. The two historic sites
that are eligible for nomination would be tested,
photographed and mapped.
o To enhance reservoir fishing opportunities, a minimum pool
of 10,400 acre-feet would be established. A boat ramp
would be constructed on the' east side of the proposed
reservoir at a site yet to be determined.

3-14
