• <br />Rock surfaces at the. ogee and downstream would be lined with <br />concrete slabs anchored into the rock. Overburden above the rock <br />cuts would be behind retaining walls to an elevation well above <br />the maximum waterline.. <br />3.24 The chute section of the spillway would be in two parts: <br />an upper part with a slope of 2 percent and a lower, steeper part <br />with a slope of 50 percent. The chute section would be 90 feet <br />wide and all water bearing surf aces, would be concrete lined. <br />Rock cuts would be lined with concrete slabs anchored to the rock <br />and provided with drains whereas the overburden above the rock <br />would be contained. by retaining walls to well above the water <br />line. <br />3.25 The spillway stilling basin would measure 90 feet wide by <br />about 215 feet long and 42 feet deep. The discharge channel <br />would be riprapped along its entire length of about 1,100 feet to <br />Savery Creek. <br />3.26 The Sandstone Dam would be located at the northern end of <br />Carbon County Road 561 which extends north from State Highway 70 <br />at the town of Savery, 4Jyoming. Some improvement to the county <br />road would. be be required to support increased traffic during <br />construction as well as provide permanent access to the project <br />area. A short section of trail would be improved in the vicinity <br />of the dam to provide access to the dam crest by means of a <br />bridge over the spillway. Four-wheel drive vehicle trails would <br />provide limited access to the upper reaches of the east side of <br />the reservoir. <br />3.27 Field reconnaissance has not revealed the existence of <br />electric or telephone utilities in the Savery Creek valley north <br />• of the Boyer Ranch.
