The application was filed pursuant to Section 404 of <br />the Clean Water Act f33 U.S.C. 1344). <br />The Proposed Action involves construction of an earth fill dam and <br />reservoi r to provide domestic and industrial water supply as wall as <br />recreation end flood control. The dam would require the ,placement of <br />approximately 265,700 cubic yards of fill and 2800 cubic yards of <br />concrete. <br />The Proposed Action includes a spillway sized to peas a flood flow of <br />65,300 cubic feet per second and an outlet works sized to accomodate <br />the future addition of a 2000 kilowatt hydroelectric power generation <br />facility. Planned future additions include picnic and boating <br />facilities. The Proposed Action would increase the firm water supply <br />available for domestic end industrial use in the Ransely arse. <br />3.
