Recommended management strategies/options:
1) Maintain existing waters designated within the
Optimum and Special Management categories as listed.
2) Assess any of streams included in Category 221 for
potential as Colorado River cutth oat trout habitats
3) Manage Elkhead Reservoir for?ass, black crappie, and
seasonal trout fishing in accordance with the Colorado
River Fishes Recovery Program Nonnative Fish

reservoir is enlarged, during which a fish reclamation
project would be implemented.
5) Protect boreal toad habitat within all waters of the
Elkhead Creek drainage.
6) Continue to inventory alpine amphibian habitats above
7,000 ft elevation for boreal toad breeding and nursery
sites.
7) Initiate baseline herptile, mollusk and crustacean
inventories as agency resources permit.
