1

without utilizing outside secretarial services for
preparation of minutes, merge mailings and some other time
consuming tasks. These duties were assumed by the
secretary, with an overall savings of some $300-$500 this
year. The equipment for recording and public address at
CRFWC meetings was expanded with the purchase of a public
address amplifier and speakers. This should allow better
communication during meetings. The Council utilized about
' $725 from reserves as well as this year's dues amounts to
operate the Council during the past year, however expenses
associated with the discontinuation of outside secretarial
' services have not been fully realized and next year's
expenses should be closer to dues income.
A motion was made to accept the financial statement
and the 1997 meetings minutes by AZ and seconded by NV and
passed without dissent.
' Other Council Action
' Mr. Fred Worthley, who retired as Regional Supervisor
with the California Department of Fish and Game, and who has
given the Council much service as a technical representative
' and then as the staff representative, and often representing
the California Department Director on the Council, was
recognized for his dedicated service to the Council. Mr.
John Baughman presented Mr. Worthley a token recognizing his
accomplishments for the CRFWC.
Time and Place of Coming Meetings
Following the agreement of last winter's meeting, the
Council affirmed the next meeting of the CRFWC would be held
' in conjunction with the Western Association of F&G Agencies,
on January 7, 1999 in San Diego CA. The hotel and
conference center is to be communicated to Rod Stone by John
' Mumma or Eddie Kochman as soon as possible so that he can
make arrangements for the Council portion of the meeting. A
draft agenda for this meeting and the supporting documents
' needed for review should be sent to council and staff at
least one month prior to the meeting.
' The next Annual meeting of CRFWC was agreed upon to
be held April 21-22, 1999 at the St. Tropez Hotel, Las
Vegas.
' There being no further business, the meeting was
adjourned by John Baughman.
17
