a <br />It was pointed out that in the new articles of association are silent on the <br />naming and status of committees and that the technical committee is given <br />authority to select and provide standing or ad hoc status for committees as <br />they please. <br />Whereupon, Mr. Worthly amended his motion to suggest that the technical <br />committee give every consideration to the establishment of a subtechnical <br />committee dealing with wildlife habitat and primarily with riparian habitat. <br />Amended motion carried. <br />D. Prohibition on Introduction of the Asiatic Crab <br />J <br />A motion was made by Wayne Gustaveson and seconded to extend the prohibitions <br />of importation from the single species of Asiatic crab to prohibition of the <br />entire genus Eriocheir, familiy Grapsidae. The motion was passed <br />unanimously. a <br />E. Fish Disease Control Policy <br />Mr. Gustaveson moved to adopt all changes in the fish disease control policy <br />as recommended by the fish disease subcommittee. The motion made and <br />seconded, carried unanimously. The adapted policy is attached as Appendix L. <br />F. Production of a Brochure on Whirling Disease <br />Mr. Gustaveson's motion to charge the fish disease subcommittee with publica- <br />tion and distribution of a brochure detailing information about whirling <br />disease, and especially its transportation, and for the allocation of $500 <br />from the emergency whirling disease conference revenues for this purpose was <br />brought forward. The council moved, seconded and passed unanimously <br />(Appendix E). <br />G. Publication of Proceedings of the Emergency Whirling Disease Conference <br />In consideration of Mr. Gustaveson's earlier motion that the council approve <br />and assign the fish disease subcommittee to publish and distribute the <br />proceedings of the emergency conference on whirling disease and further <br />identify an amount from the conference revenues, not to exceed $1,000 for <br />this purpose. The council so moved, seconded and approved uanimously. <br />H. Funding for Fish Disease Subcommittee Business in the Coming Year <br />In consideration of Mr. Gustaveson's motion that the council approve the <br />remainder of the revenues received from the emergency conference on whirling <br />disease to the discretion of business for the fish disease subcommittee, the 41 <br />following motion was made by William Molini, seconded by Jim Ruch and passed <br />unanimously. "That $500 of the remaining revenue received from the emergency <br />conference on whirling disease be allocated to the fish disease subcommittee <br />for conduct of committee business, including printing new report forms or <br />whatever is necessary; and that the remainder be allocated to council income <br />for use for other upcoming expenditures of the council." . <br />16
