C <br />MINUTES <br />COLORADO RIVER WILDLIFE COUNCIL <br />July 9, 1988 <br />. Pyramid Plaza Convention Center <br />Albuquerque, New Mexico- <br />The annual meeting of the Colorado River Wildlife Council was convened at 8 <br />a.m. by Mr. William H. Geer, Chairman. Mr. Geer welcomed all delegates and <br />representatives and those interested in business of the council who were <br />attending the meeting and had each attendee introduce himself and his <br />position and organization. Representatives of the Colorado River Wildlife <br />Council were then introduced by Mr. Geer. <br />William Geer Utah Division of Wildlife Resources <br />William Morris Wyoming Game & Fish Department <br />Fred Worthley California Fish & Game Department <br />William Molini Nevada Department of Wildlife <br />Temple Reynolds Arizona Game & Fish Department <br />Jim Ruch Colorado Division of Wildlife <br />Richard McClesky New Mexico Game & Fish Department <br />Roderick Stone, Secretary Utah Division of Wildlife Resources <br />A list of attendees is provided as Appendix A. <br />INFORMATION SESSION <br />1987 Minutes <br />Minutes of the 1987 annual meeting held in Las Vegas, Nevada, April 1987 were <br />distributed to all members of the Council and Council's various working <br />committees as well as all attendees of the annual meeting. Copies were also <br />distributed to main offices of the cooperating council agencies. <br />Financial Report <br />Rod Stone provided the council and attendees with the financial statement of <br />the council for activities since the 1987 annual meeting (copy attached, <br />Appendix B). There being no questions on the minutes or financial statement, <br />. Rod Stone made a motion to accept the minutes and the financial statement. <br />Motion seconded by Jim Ruch and carried unanimously. <br />At the mid-winter meeting, there was considerable discussion regarding what <br />avenues the council should consider for funding the increased operations <br />needed to meet council objectives to have a more effective council dealing in <br />at least fisheries but possibly wildlife matters throughout the Colorado <br />Basin and becoming a more effective and positive force for wildlife. Several <br />different alternatives were pursued in discussion; however, the council <br />decided to try an approach for Walloup-Breaux administrative funds first and <br />if that procedure failed, then to subsequently discuss several of the other <br />funding proposals for operation of the council in another mid-year meeting, <br />probably during the winter of 1989. There was some concern that a proposal <br />for administrative funds would meet considerable resistance through the <br />review procedure in spite of the fact that other fishery management councils <br />and organizations appear to have received approval for operating funds for up <br />to three year intervals.
