However, depth selection <br />was not independent of the velocity treatment (i.e. low, medium, high velocities) as <br />determined by an R x C test (x2=30.05, df=4, p<0.001). In low velocity treatments <br />(mean velocity 0.0336 m/s) bonytail were found at deep depths 71 % of the time, middle <br />depths 27%, and near the surface 2% of the time (Fig. 1.6). In medium velocity <br />treatments (mean velocity 0.0589 m/s) bonytail were found at deep depths 82% of the <br />time, middle depths 14%, and near the surface 4% of the time (Fig. 1.6).
