Aitkin to Hwv 6 (River Mile 1059 to 1033) - Approximately 26 river miles; large <br />diversion channel limits river flow at Ait.'dn (built in response to flooding in the 1950s); <br />classified as scenic; residential shoreland development; corridor should be predominantly <br />forested; residential increases north of Brainerd (River Lake is impoundment for Potlatch plant); <br />forestry is ongoing land use; unique wildlife corridor in a developed area; considerable local use <br />for fishing. <br /> <br />August 15, 25, 29 <br />September 27 <br /> <br />13. Hwy 6 to Potlatch Dam (River Mile 1033 to 1007) - Approximately 26 miles; (may leap <br />frog at Riverton mile #1016 or 1017 or 1021). <br /> <br />June 12, 24 <br />July 3, 4, 25, 31 <br />August 15 <br /> <br />l4a. Potlatch Dam to Nokasippi/Fort Ripley Landing (River Mile 1007 to 984) - Approximately <br />23 river miles (Crow Wing State Park at mile # 994); approximately 10 river miles through the <br />City of Brainerd; limited river access due to bluffs; is development visible on the river here? is <br />this a popular short trip? Not classified by MHB. Below city is attractive wooded corridor <br />(development south of Brainerd/ Baxter visible; islands in the stream; a few farms and artillery <br />fire form Camp Ripley); classified scenic. <br /> <br />July 10, 18 <br />August 21, 26, 27, 28 <br /> <br />14b. Nokasippi to Little Falls (River Mile 984 to 967) - Approximately 17 river miles; <br />attractive wooded corridor; limited visible development; islands are unique and remarkable <br />feature (also recreation sites); interesting wildlife; Two dams in Little Falls restrict river access <br />(how are these for portaging?
