Maybell Site - 9/25/84

Air photos - channel morphology appears very stable through
Maybell area. Floodplainlold channels evident on photos with
many overbank areas noticeable. Channel substrate information
indicates stable gravellcobblelrock conaitions reach appears to
carry relatively little sand.

Conclusion: Dynamic stability is an adequate assumption. Area
measurements may be suitaDle for this reach.

WHITE RIVER

Ouray Site - 9/23/84

...

Air photos - Three channel cutoffs noted on 1974 photos which
are not apparent in 1963 photos. Numerous Shifts in bar
numbers, location and size in the White River and Green River
when added to channel cutoffs suggest Shifting channel
conditions. Decreased sinuosity (increased slope) in this reach
suggests adjustment in White River to Changes in base level of
Green River (which adjusted to regulation of Flaming Gorge).
Flow width measurements may not be possible for comparison due
to differences in discharge on date of photo (1974 flow 2 times
larger than 1963 flow). Plotted cross sections indicate wide
Shallow conditions.

Conclusfon: Cannot assume dynamic equilfbrium for this site.
