<br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Central Valley Water Reuse Project <br /> <br />Central Utah Water Conservancy District <br />Department of the Interior <br />Orem, Utah <br /> <br />In 1994, the Central Utah Water Conservancy District awarded PIONEER a third-party contract <br />to complete an EIS on a proposal by Salt Lake County's Central Valley Water Reclamation <br />Facility to reuse 40,000 acre-feet of treated effluent annually and thereby qualify for Central <br />Utah Project funding of improvements to the facility. The treated effluent would be used for <br />irrigation and secondary residential systems, making water previously allocated to these used <br />available for environmental, municipal and industrial applications. The primary issues <br />addressed in the analysis are: water resources, wetlands, T&E species, recreation, and land <br />use. <br /> <br />Noteworthy Features of this Job <br /> <br />· Comprises all aspects of NEPA to produce an EIS and supporting documentation <br />· Completed by interdisciplinary consultant team <br />· Involves comprehensive hydraulic and water-quality analysis then assessment of indirect <br />effects <br /> <br />Why is this Job Relevant? <br /> <br />· Also a major, federal, water project <br />· Involves many of the same issues <br />· Requires coordination of many diverse public, municipal and agency interests <br />
