Total alkalinity has little direot effect on fishes; however, <br />it is uSIlally an indicator of biologioal produotivity (Lagler, 1956). <br />All values recorded lie between the expected range of values for North <br />Amerioan tresh waters (Ellis, Westfall and EJ.lis, 1946). <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
