.

.

to the Upper Colorado system. Receivers that may offer advantages
over those presently in hand should also be tested.
This equipment test should be conducted in late summer and
fall, 1978. This will insure that the best equipment can be
available for a study next spring.. Also, conductivities in the
river are highest during low flows, which will result in a "worst
case" test for the transmitters.
2. A study to determine Colorado squawfish spawning requirements
should be initiated on or near January 1. This will allow the
contractor sufficient time to obtain equipment and test it before
field work commences. Most telemetry equipment requires 2-3
months between time of ordering and receiving.
3. A guarantee should be obtained from the equipment manufacturer
that states the strength and life of the equipment and provides
for damages incurred due to faulty equipment.
4. The actual study methodology should follow that used in the
present study. Implantation and tracking techniques appeared
successful and, therefore, deviations should be carefully scru-
tinized.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

25

.
