Rapid <br />break down is important so that populations of non- <br />target organisms can quickly begin to recover from any <br />adverse effects and to permit early re-stocking of desired <br />species of fish. <br />Two chemical fish control agents are commonly used <br />for the reclamation of ponds, lakes, and rivers. These are <br />rotenone and antimycin. Both are approved for fishery <br />uses by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency <br />(EPA). Of the two, rotenone is the most commonly used <br />compound.
