even line B in Figure 5. Conversely, age-O fish in the
Upper Colorado River are usually spawned later and therefore
are smaller, resulting in a length-survival relationship
analogous to lines A or C in Figure 5. Sampling efforts
should be directed toward the collection of data useful in
testing whether the hypothetical curves shown in Figure 5
accurately depict the overwinter survival relationships of
age-O Colorado squawfish in nature.
