The objectives of my
study were as follows.
1. Determine the influence of size, condition factor, and
lipid content on the overwinter survival of hatchery-reared
age-O Colorado squawfish held under simulated winter
temperatures for 210 days.
2. Compare size, condition, and lipid content of wild and
hatchery-reared age-O Colorado squawfish before and after
the winter period.
3. Compare condition, lipid content, and survival of
hatchery-reared fish subjected to different feeding regimes
(dry trout pellets versus brine shrimp versus starved).
4. Estimate the amount of lipid that fish must maintain to
survive overwinter.
