<br />316 <br /> <br />material and significant quantities of material larger than 100 mm in diameter. <br />For these streams, II. bedload-transport rate was computed for each size class, <br />which then was multiplied by the fraction of the bed in the size class. The <br />bedload-transport rate for a given discharge at the gaging station was deter- <br />mined by summing the bedload-transport rates of the several size classes. Com- <br />puted bedload-transport rates were typically less than 20% of the total sedi- <br />ment load.
