I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

requests are shown in Tab1 e 1 by category of demand (snow making,
municipal/domestic, irrigation, and industrial), and by drainage area.
Approximately 17,392 acre-feet of water have been requested by potential
water sales contractors.
In addition to these requests, the Sunmit County Board of County
Corrmissioners has submitted an app1 ication for an unall ocated vol ume of
212 acre-feet intended for future development (principally small users)
above Dillon Reservoir. Another unallocated volume of water (5000
acre-feet) has been identified to protect water rights benefiting from
Green Mountain perfected between 1977 and 1984. Thi s reserve storage
would benefit small users (less than 2.0 cfs diversion capacity). For
the small users who will not be seeking individual water service
contracts, thi s unall ocated vol ume of water would provide a degree of
protection equal to that afforded the pre-1977 Green Mountain benefi-
ciaries. The adjusted maximum annual dry year demand for small users
was estimated at 5000 acre-feet. Thus, the current total demand for
Green Mountain water sales contracts is estimated at 22,704 acre-feet.
Table 1 shows that the snownaking and municipal/domestic requests
represent 20% and 22% of the identified requests, respectively.
Irrigation represents about 6% of the request and industrial demand (oil
shale) about 53%.

- 9 -
