Delta County

1. Our primary concern is that of mosquitoes.

2. It is our understanding that the U.S. Fish and
Wildlife Service is also trying to limit the types of
spray used in the areas along the river. The only
approved sprays being much more costly than
those currently used by the district. It is our belief
that those additional costs should also be covered
by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

3. We are also concerned that landowners have a
clear understanding of the program. There are a
number of different "divisions" of U.S. Fish and
Wildlife Service operating in the area and the
opportunities for confusion are numerous.

Colorado Department of Transportation

1. Please ensure that before levees are breached,
that induced flooding is analyzed to ensure that it
will not cause damage to the Interstate or highway
systems in the area of the activities. Any
activities involving CDOT facilities and
mitigation must be coordinated with the Region 3
office in Grand Junction.

Utah Department of Agriculture & Food

1. On page 1-3 you list the other factors which
have impacted the endangered fishes in the Upper
Colorado Basin. The draft has omitted reference
to the Asian tapeworm, Bothriocephalus
acheilognathi, which infects three of the four
endangered species to be recovered under the
project, namely the Colorado squawfish,
humpback chub, and bonytail chub.
