SO,PART I, 1973

Purpose

After a review of Ihe Green River Fish Manipulation Program by the
Secretary of the Interior, Stewart L. Udall, in March 1963, the Utah
Cooperative Fishery Unit was requested"to determine the extent of species
and populatIon impairnient caused by the rotenone and to plan a longer
range research project which would assess the changes in habitat and fish
populations in Dinosaur National Monument brought about by closure of
Flaming Gorge Dam. The objectives of this specific phase of the follow-up
study were:

1. To describe changes in river environm~nt associated with the closure
of Flaming Gorge Dam.
2. To determine species composition, distribution, and abundance of
::..::: :.:. ;. .' fhhcs in the Grecn River from Flaming Gorge Dam to Ouray, Utah
-.
