This indicated that collections/packaging of hatchery samples was not the problem; either the analysis of the parents was in error or fish lots were mixed prior to distribution at the hatchery. This may represent a substantial problem for future work. The second objective of our quick survey was to determine if th ere were enough variable loci in the Green River fish to make a number of differentially marked (genetically) groups of offspring. It appears there are a good number of potential loci -- about 14 although all i , m ght not prove out.
