Seventy-five percent of unfed larvae were dead by <br />day 26 post-hatching. By day 50 all larvae were dead. A <br />majority died between 20 and 30 days from hatching (Fig. 1; <br />Appendix A). Dead fish measured an average of 9.6±.8 mm TL (Fig. <br />2; Appendix A). <br />Experiment 2. No mortality was experienced by larvae receiving <br />food from day 5 post-hatching. Larvae that received food <br />beginning on days 9, 13 and 17 had respective mortalities of <br />10.0, 10.0 and 26.7 percent. There were no significant <br />differences (.1>p>.05) among days 5, 9, 13 and 17 (Table 1; <br />Fig.3; Appendix B). Highest mortalities occurred when larvae <br />were without food for 25 (86.7%) and 29 days (93.3%). There were <br />no differences between these levels at .1>p>.05. A majority died <br />between 20 and 30 days after hatching (Fig. 4; Appendix B) at <br />anaverage size of 9.31.7 mm TL (Fig. 5; Appendix B). Surviving
