IFG maintains close contact with the <br />research community and continually encourages researchers to direct their <br />efforts toward better understanding of the relationship between stream <br />flow and production of target species and of the decision-making process. <br />Granting agencies are encouraged to support these research activities. <br />through the efforts of the IFG by scoping out, research programs and <br />serving on research review panels. <br />R?elationshi2o State and Federal Programs ,,tO , <br />The Group is administered by the Fish and Wildlife Service but is multi-agency <br />in character, cooperating with many other agencies which also have responsi- <br />bilities and interest in instream flow assessment. The multi-agency character <br />of the Group is reflected in several ways: <br />1. Staffing. Staffing is provided by the Fish and Wildlife Service <br />through direct funding, by States through the Intergovernmental <br />Personnel Act and by other Federal agencies through assignment and <br />details. <br />g
