This could be any combination of the cover items listed
above or a single cover object such as a downfall that provides both
velocity refuge and visual isolation.
No Cover - Absence of cover will also be noted.
The cover was recorded in a separate column in the field books and the decision
to include cover in the PHABSIM analysis will depend on the requirements of the
habitat suitability criteria.
1 2001 Results
1

1
1
1
1

1

During 2001, all the required IFIM data was collected. Four sites were selected for
modeling, three on the Fryingpan River and one on the Roaring Fork River. Fryingpan
River sites are as follows: one at the Bend Pool of the Catch and Release section below
Ruedi Dam (Figures 1 and 2), one near the Downey Creek confluence (Figure 3) and a
split site on Roy Palm's property (Figures 4, 5, and 6). A site was established on the
Roaring Fork River at the U.S. Forest Service's Tree Farm location (Figures 7 and 8).
Numerous sampling trips were required to place transects, collect bed profiles, measure
water surface elevations and map habitat. A summary of these field trips and
measurements collected on each trip are located in Table 1 and Table 2. Table 3 contains
habitat designations for all transects surveyed as part of the IFIM data collection.
Draft 2001 Task Summary Report Page 8
Miller Ecological Consultants, Inc.
