Several additional sites (not included in Table 1) were identified for potential field reconnaissance,
' based on stakeholder interest and feedback provided at the June 6, 2000 meeting. These include the
following sites:
• Site 35 on South Fortification Creek

• Site 36 on South Fortification Creek
• Site 39 on Little Cottonwood Creek
• Site 40 on Little Cottonwood Creek
• Site 42 on Little Bear Creek
• Site 57 on Big Gulch
• Site 71 on Morapos Creek
• Site 76 on Willow Creek
' In addition, based upon interest expressed during several PBO meetings held throughout the summer,
the existing Stagecoach Reservoir and Elkhead Reservoir were added to the list as potential reservoir
expansion sites.
' The sites outlined above were considered for Phase 2 preliminary field investigation and are presented
in Table 2, Pwm-ial Sitcs for Year 2000 Field Ra "nissaaxr.
3.4 PHASE 2 POTENTIAL SITES TO BE EVALUATED IN FURTHER DETAIL
It was recognized that only a select number of sites from Table 2 could be visited during the summer
' of 2000, but that additional evaluation could continue on other sites on parallel tracks. This would
assure that potential sites with current stakeholder interest would continue to be addressed. With this
in mind, three tracks were established, as follows:
' • Track 1: 200 to 2,000 ac-ft sites with current stakeholder interest, benefit to multiple
agricultural users, and cost-sharing opportunities.
• Track 2: Could be sized to 2,000 to 5,000 ac-ft and potentially serve multiple purposes,
including agriculture, off-channel flat water fishery, and PBO flow release requirements.
' • Track 3: 200 to 2,000 ac-ft sites with some level of interest, but the need for additional
data collection.

Both Track 1 and Track 2 sites would undergo preliminary field reconnaissance in the summer of
2000 during Phase 2. Additional information gathering would be recommended for Track 3 sites to
determine whether field reconnaissance would be warranted in the future.
