"~ <br />1I1U7 <br />t <br /> <br />PLAN FOR THE PROPAGATION OF THREATENED AND <br />ENDANGERED FISHES OF THE UPPER COLORADO RIVER BASIN <br />Lee Mills <br />U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service <br />INTRODUCTION <br />~ ~~ ~ <br />0 <br />~q~r <br />The signing on January 21 and 22, 1988, of the Recovery Implementation Program <br />for Endangered Fish Species in the Upper Colorado River Basin (Recovery <br />Program) set into motion a series of recovery actions necessary to protect and <br />recover three fish species listed as endangered: Colorado squawfish, humpback <br />chub, bonytail chub, and one considered so rare as to warrant consideration for <br />listing - the razorback sucker. The Implementation Plan identifies five major <br />recovery elements: <br />1. Habitat Management <br />2. Habitat Development and Maintenance <br />3. Stocking of Rare Fish Species <br />
