I <br />The primary objective of this task would be to provide a <br />demonstration area for testing hypotheses about the spring <br />habitat requirements of rare fish. Specific objectives of the <br />project include: <br />1) To create and manage interactive wetlands for the benefit <br />of rare fishes. <br />2) To develop habitat management procedures and protocols that <br />can be used elsewhere, and <br />3) to produce a habitat management manual <br />The facilities created by the project would be valuable for testing <br />and demonstrating management strategies, particularly those related <br />to spring flows. <br />Deliverables: <br />Yearly repor-s would be submitted and a habitat management <br />manual would Le produced at study completion. <br />1992 Budget` : <br />-Labor $15,000 <br />-Travel 2,000 <br />-Equipment <br />-Water pump $24,000 <br />-Fish weir 3,000 <br />-Construction <br />1) water control 5,000 <br />2) dikes 28,000 <br />Total <br />$77,000 <br />'Does not include FWS overhead <br />B10
