Deliverables:
The Service will provide a Final Report by the end of the fiscal
year.
1992 Budget':
- Labor $17,400
- Travel $ 2,100
- Report $ 500
- Total 000
Task 7. Availability habitat characteristics and fish use of
spring habitats for Colorado squawfish and razorback sucker in the
Green River.
Description of work:
An ongoing FWS Hypothesis Testing project, this study was
originally ccnceived as a two-part study involving habitat
management for Colorado squawfish and razorback sucker in the
Green River. At present only the initial part of the study will
be implemented (Subproject A: Habitat Restoration and Management
of Wetlands). The primary objective of study will be to
determine the relationship between habitat availability, fish
accessibility, and fish-use in seasonally flooded bottoms in the
upper Green River. Old Charley Wash will be used in this study
to examine what role riparian habitats flooded during spring
runoff play in the reproduction and/or recruitment of razorback
sucker and Colorado squawfish, and the effect of predation on
native fishes. The study would be important for determining if
spring flows from Flaming Gorge operations could be refined to
benefit razorback sucker and Colorado squawfish.
-Hypotheses to be Tested: 1,2,3,4,9
Deliverables:
An annual report would be submitted by the end of the fiscal
year detailing habitat management options and flow
recommendations for optimizing habitat for endangered fishes.
1992 Budget`:
-Labor $34,000
-Travel 3,000
-Other 1,000
Task 8.
