Symbols recommended for proteins and alleles follow Shaklee et al.
(1990). Specific collection sites are presented in Appendix 1, Table 2. No significant differences were
found between Colorado River, San Juan River, Green River, and Yampa River allele frequencies (Z-
statistics or tests of the normal deviate and Chi-square goodness-of-fit tests, as appropriate, independent of
BIOSYS-1 using methods described in Merrell (1975). Significant deviations from Hardy-Weinberg
equilibria (**P<0.01, ***P<0.001) are indicated next to sample sites (1). The BIOSYS-1 program
(Swofford and Selander 1987) was used to calculate Hardy-Weinberg and F. values.
Locus
(sample size)
alleles
Population
Colorado Green San Juan Yampa
River River River River F,t
ES-2
(1) (67) (43) (06) (29)
*a 0.701 0.733 0.817 0.759
*b 0.299 0.244 0.083 0.241
*c 0.000 0.023 0.000 0.000
GPI-I
(119 (76)*** (49) (11) (33)
*a 0.395 0.388 0.364 0.318
*b 0.605 0.612 0.636 0.682
GPI-2
(1) (76) (49)*** (11) (29)
*a 0.046 0.041 0.000 0.000
*b 0.934 0.959 1.000 0.966
*c 0.000 0.000 0.000 0.000
*d 0.020 0.000 0.000 0.034
PEPB
(119 (64) (49) (10) (33)
*a 0.008 0.000 0.000 0.000
*b 0.984 1.000 1.000 1.000
. *c 0.008 0.000 0.000 0.000
PGAM-2
(A9 (76)** (49) (11) (33)
*a 0.072 0.031 0.000 0.091
*b . 0.928 .0.969 1.000 .0.909
Mean F„
0.039
0.004
0.018
0.009
0.027
0.019
