Passive sampling with gill and trammel
nets proved inefficient at capturing predatory fish. In 62 hrs of netting only 16 channel catfish and 11 carp
were sampled. Netting was not used during post-runoff sampling.

4.2.4 Larval Li2ht Traps

Summaries of native fish captured during the NPS sampling trip (June 20-22) and post-runoff sampling
(August 2-6) are presented in Table 7.

Table 7. This sample included 31 channel catfish, 13
walleye, 4 striped bass and 1 black crappie. Fish remains were found in stomachs of two walleye and one black
crappie. Fish remains in the walleye stomachs were panially digested and have not been identified. The black
crappie stomach contained remains of two red shiners approximately 40 mm TI... A more detailed stomach
content analysis will be included in the final report.
