SITE 2 (RM 327.6)

Site 2 was a large downstream oriented chute channel formed in a sandbar along the right bank in
Rainbow Park (RM 327.6) This backwater had an area of 2,800 m2 with a maximum depth of 4.5 ft at
1 ,900 c~. In January ice covered the entire backwater with an average thickness of 0.7 ft. By February
the upstream portion of the sandbar had eroded away, allowing water to flow through the habitat forming a
large side channel. This area was considered unsuitable habitat during the winter.
