Equitable distnbntion of the waters of the La Plata River (Preamble) . <br />2 Remove causes of present and future cantrovers°y (Preamble) <br />3. Pramote interstate comity (Preamble) <br />Salient Provisions: <br />1. State oE Colorado shall, at her own ccpense, operate ta+o gaging statioas oa the La Plata <br />River - oae being the Hesperus station and one being the intecstate stadon at or near the <br />Sta«line. (ArL n <br />2 Ftow at the Hespenu atation means the river flow at that station plus the amount <br />oE concurreat diversioas above that station. (Agt n <br />3. FZow at the iatcrstate station means the r'rver Qoar at that station plus one-half of <br />che coacurreat diversions of the Enterprise and Pioneer CanaLs, ptus uty other <br />diversiou in Colorado for use ia New Me;rico. (Art. n <br />4 Both gages will be operated betviretn February 15th and December lst (Art. n <br />5. Between Dexmber lst and Febn:ary 15th each state has uarestricted use of alI <br />water within its bocmdaries. (Art. In <br />6. Between February 15th and December lst the water shall be apportioned as <br />followr <br />a. Each state has unrestricted vsc oa those days where the intetstate station <br />has a meaa dafly flow of 100 cfs or morG (Art II) <br />b. On all other days. Colorado must delivcr to the intcrstate station half of <br />the meaa flow at Hesperus for the precodiag day, but aot more thaa 100 <br />cfs. (AR II) <br />7.
