CWCB Construction Fund Loan Application
The ditch company installed approximately 1060 lineal feet of 6' corrugated metal pipe (CMP)
to stop the irrigation ditch from leaking and reduce water loss. The joints in the newly installed
CMP were leaking, which in turn caused another slide to develop. Additional efforts to seal the
joints in the CMP have recently been completed and consist of the installation of leak-proof
bands on the interior of each of the pipe joints. The head scarp areas of the failures have been
stabilized by the installation of soil nail reinforcing, but the exposed faces still need to be
protected from erosion. The ditch company proposes to construct concrete headwalls at the
upstream and downstream ends of the CMP to reduce the under seepage and scour occurring at
~ the inlet and outlet of the pipe. In addition, the slope debris situated beneath the failures will
need to be removed and/or stabilized. The seasonal water flows in the ditch are used to irrigate
approximately 4,000 acres of meadows and pastures.
Water Right: 75_CFS.
