these data from Teller Count.y and Woodland Park records and from other sources.
Assemhle the information at the beginning of the project and continue throughout the
project to include additional information as it becomes available.
6~. In cooperation with Woodtand Park and Teller County personnel, conduct a
reconnaissance of the wa~ershed and drainage channels that appear to impact the channel
aggradation groblem. Of p~rticular importance would be to identify eroding or
aggradational reaches aflong the channel and tributaries, to identify opportunities for
temporary detention of the runoff during the storms, and to measure sizes of drainage
features. This step will provicle information for analysis of the hydrology, and will be
essential in developing possible solutions.
~.~ Conduct a detail survey of Fountain Creek from the Teller-El Paso boundary, upstream
to large head cut in the vicinity uf the trailer parl~ and upstream to the next intersectnon.
This survey woufld include cross-sections suitable for hydraulic analysis used in the
preliminary design channel and channel bank stabilization, and would be necessary to
secure Federal Emergency M~nagement Agency (FEMA) approval for major stream
modificaxions.
;
~
~ _*
,
t
1
b
x
i
F
t
~
L~~ter phases of this investigation willl develop: hydrology and hydraulics of the portions of
Fountain ~~reek, alternative solutions for the problem, axfld a master plan for erosion and sediment
control of'portions ofFountain Creek. This report presents the results of the Phase I investigation.
2
