The $500,000 being requested is designed to help the CWCB implement its strategy in the <br />following areas: <br />• enhance our climate observation systems with the goal of identifying long-term trends; <br />• scrutinize and detect bias in climate change models; <br />• funding partnerships to ensure new data is useful at a local planning level; <br />• adapt information for use in the Colorado Decision Support System; <br />• publish useful information; <br />• utilize information to meet federal drought planning requirements; <br />• forecasting and proj ections; and to, <br />• calculate specific impacts to water rights, including instream flow water rights. <br />Please refer to the attached list of potential projects Water Adaptation Projects that details long <br />term study needs for the State of Colorado. The list outlines a comprehensive strategy for <br />addressing water adaptation needs, over a 2-5 year period, to respond to potential climate change <br />impacts. Consequently, you will notice that the list exceeds the current $500,000 funding <br />request.
