The second component of this work involves updating the SWSI gallon per capita per day (gpcd) basin-
wide values. IWMD's contractor utilized the same methodology in this update as was used in SWSI 1.
This involved updating the data in the SWSI 1 water provider database. Data were obtained for an
additiona135 providers not included in the SWSI database. In all, updated per capita estimates were
collected for 149 water providers covering 73 percent of the population in Colorado. This information
will be discussed with the Basin Roundtables in the upcoming months. Table 2 shows the baseline M&I
Forecast by Basin. This information includes current conservation measures but does not include
reduction in demand due to planned conservation. It also does not include the self-supplied industrial
demands.
Table 2 Baseline M&I Forecast by Basin

WATER DEMAND (AF)
Updated SWSI
1
No.
Utilities
No.
2035
2050
2050
2050
gpcd
gpcd
Basin in Sample Updated Low Middle High
Arkansas 65 29 312,982 351,454 377,821 415,975 189 214
Colorado 23 13 167,506 198,607 232,327 271,850 249 244
Gunnison 21 18 38,094 44,086 48,324 53,328 177 226
North Platte 1 1 648 706 784 923 297 267
Rio Grande 9 4 26,220 28,682 30,791 33,944 347 332
South Platte 143 70 1,064,666 1,204,175 1,302,719 1,435,072 180 206
Southwest 16 6 49,383 55,034 63,158 71,075 235 220
Yampa 10 8 17,890 22,385 26,906 32,820 205 230
All Basins 288 149 1,677,389 1,905,130 2,082,831 2,314,987 190
