The CWCB did not approve the Battlement Reservoir 43 reservoir
enlargement grant request which would have improved habitat for native
cutthroat trout. The CBRT approved $80,000 out of the basin account for this
purpose. CWCB staff recommended approval, but the CWCB board tabled a
decision on whether to approve the grant until their November 2008 meeting.
The CBWC board requested more information about the water rights
associated with the reservoir.
10. The CBRT will review additional grant requests at the November 24, 2008
meeting.
11. Report on 10825 water. Colorado River flows are currently higher than
normal in part due to the 10825 water being released. Current releases are:
Reservoir Total Release 10825 water
Green Mountain 1,150 cfs 700 cfs
Wolford Minimum flow -
Williams Fork 150 cfs -
Ruedi 300 cfs 200 cfs
Total 900 cfs
12. Jewlya Lynn (jewlya c,csi-policy.org) of the Center for
Systems Integration and Lyn Kathleen (lyn.kathleen?coloradoppi.org) of the
Colorado Institute of Public Policy at CSU continued to lead a discussion of the
Network Study Results. They asked the CBRT at the August meeting to ponder
what the Roundtable's purpose is. Rachel Richards noted that Front Range water
providers are more cohesive than they have been in the past and are speaking
with a more unified voice. Jewlya Lynn suggested that the CBRT needed a
good decision making process before it could obtain a unified voice.
b. Consumptive needs were not addressed. When the CBRT discussed the
Roundtable purposes at the August meeting, there was little if any discussion
of consumptive needs.
c. Past CBRT Votes. Jewlya asked how the CBRT has voted on issues before.
Votes are taken by a majority vote of the voting members present at each
I:AInterbasin Compact Committee\Basin Roundtables\COlorad0\Minutes\Minutes Sep 2008x.doc 2
