Kevin McBride presented Yampa's request to determine current and future water supply
needs and tank design. Oak Creek's request will be similar but will look at covering the
supply ditch instead of a tank. There was discussion as to the appropriateness of funding
design and needs of a base water supply versus construction. What are the critical needs
and core goals. There was a desire to see matching funds and discussion of other funding
sources. Many members thought that the roundtable needs a priority list to determine
what requests we should be considering. There was unanimous consent to conceptually
approve the request.
Nicole Rowland and Amy Ackerman gave an inter
Consumptive Needs Study. Contrary to some repo
are no wilderness study areas being considered. TI
intermediate stage check-in and to see if the round
selection. After considerable discussion, there was
selection and to not move forward. Due to the wor
motion to add May and June meetings which was
selection will be considered at a meeting on June 11, 2008.
Rick Brown presented results of SWSI-I and SWSI-II. Key topics were conservation,
reuse, agricultural transfers, new supplies, multi-purpose uses, and increasing
conservation and supply concurrently. How do we address the M&I gap, the agricultural
shortage and enhanced environmental usages?
T. Wright Dickinson presented the proposal for geotechnical work on Sparks Reservoir.
This request is for coring of the dam site to determine feasibility of the reservoir. He
would like to do the work this May. There was discussion of multiple uses of the
reservoir by multiple users. There was unanimous consent to conceptually approve the
request with a complete grant application with delineation of other benefits and
benefactors.
The meeting was adjourned.
The next meeting will be on May 7, 2008 in Steamboat Springs. There will be an
additional meeting on June 11, 2008 in Craig.
