Or not <br />renewable? Difficult legislative item? <br />Bert Weaver: What are the opposing arguments? <br />Dianne: testimony that it is not renewable, testimonv about fish, etc., but <br />will be looked at in future. Biggest opposition is to get FERC licensing. <br />Would be helpful for state of CO if CO were to recognize this as <br />renewable source. <br />Jim Yahn: Was at the same meeting, other water bills: SB 247, looking <br />to bring that one back, bring back substitute plans for aug plans: HB <br />1030, depletions from pumping prior to 1974, should be coming back. <br />Education Liaison Report: Bert Weaver: Working on Headwaters <br />Magazine in October, article will focus on South Platte's Historv: <br />mining, irrigation ditches, growth, Coors in Golden as illustrative ex of <br />industrial growth, Albert Frei & Sons: large gravel quarry at top of Clear <br />Creek Canyon; history that brings up to current century bringing us up <br />to in-channel diversion: what is the river that we see now, Roundtable's <br />purpose and accomplishments, Regional nature of South Platte Basin- <br />transmountain diversions, ground water and agriculture, how- river is <br />changing, Chatfield reallocation, packed issue, interest in reviewing <br />those topics? <br />Bill Jerke: Agriculture? Mentioned at all? <br />McVicker: expresses surprise that no one on Roundtable has been <br />contacted by Nicole since her presentation in May and funding of the <br />issue, subcommittee of multiple members, no contacts, expresses need <br />to contact Nicole to encourage her to allow for roundtable participation. <br />Todd Doherty: CCWBC Purchase orders and contracts, Nicole got this <br />through, not under contract, <br />Harold Evans: South Platte is much bigger than the Golden area, what <br />about the rest of the South Platte, <br />Jim Yahn: Furthest into our area, was well issue, <br />Bill Jerke: Hoy could we have input into this issue?
