Orders to contractors (CTM and L&M) to spray an aquatic safe weed killer on willows on the banks of
the river, and the dead vegetation will be chopped and removed in September and October. An RFP will
be issued over the winter 2008-09 to complete the remaining vegetation removal work during the
summers of 2009 and 2010. A key nuance in honoring the agreements and the O&M Manual for the
project will be to find the solution that appeases flood control concerns but leaves a river corridor that is
not totally denuded of vegetation.
