We have completed our review of the design and construction documents and have found <br />them to be acceptable for construction. We are transmitting the following: <br />' • One Mylar cover sheet. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Our acceptance and approval of these documents are effective as of the date of this letter and contingent <br />on addressing the following items. The required changes as a result of the following contingencies shall be <br />submitted to this office in the form of a Change Order for our review and acceptance prior to the start of <br />construction. <br />Compaction of the crest material and abutment extension material shall be performed using <br />acceptable compaction equipment for type of material being placed. Wheel rolling of material to <br />achieve compaction is not acceptable. <br />2. The specifications detailed on Sheet 2 of the plans do not provide the requirements on the density <br />or moisture content that the abutment material is to be compacted to or the frequency in which the <br />material is to be tested. This office requires that the abutment material be placed to a density of 95- <br />percent of standard proctor according to ASTM D 698 and within +/- 2 percent of optimum <br /> <br />
