Water Supply Reserve Account - Grant Application Form <br />Fonn Revised May 2007 <br />Grassland. His responsibilities include managing TNC's Fox Ranch on the Arickaree River, developing water <br />sustainability projects in the Republican basin, negotiating voluntary conservation easements, and developing <br />conservation opportzrnitiies associated with windpower development He holds a B.S in wildlife management <br />and biology from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point and an M.B.A and an M,S. in Environmental <br />Policy from the University ofMichigan. He has worked, for TNC since 2005. <br />Tom Iseman: Tom is The Nature Conservancy's Water Program Manager in Colorado. He is based in <br />Denver and supports TNC' °s water activities in Colorado and the American ,S'outhwest. He was a technical <br />chair of the MV environment and recreation roundtable and continues to assist with the basin Non- <br />Consznnptive Needs Assessments; he also sits on the South Platte Basin Ronndtable as an at-large <br />representative. Tom grew up in Denver and has a BA from Princeton Universio, and an M,S' in freshwater <br />ecology from the Universio, of Michigan. He worked for three years in the Office of Policy at the US <br />Department of the Interior before retzrrning to Colorado to work-for TNC in 2001. <br />Sieve Cann, Esq.: ,Sieve is a Water Attorney for the, Western Resource Office of The Nature Conservancy <br />(Colorado Bar No. 24498). He provides legal szrpport for contracts drafting and negotiation, <br />compliance with state permitting regnirements and general project consultation. Steve has been TNC's <br />Regional Water Attorney for three years, and prior to that, represented Colorado Division of Water <br />Resources, Division of Parks and Recreation, and Division of Wildlife as Assistant Attorney General, <br />Natural Resources and Environment,S'ection from 1996 to 2005. <br />John Sanderson, Ph.D.: John works for the Nature Conservancy of Colorado, where, as Senior <br />Freshwater Conservation Ecologist, he works on a range of issues from ecoregional conservation <br />planning to developing ecological flows in Colorado 's streams and rivers. He holds a BS in <br />Engineering from Pardue University, an M,S' in Botany from the University of'Vermont, and a PhD. in <br />Ecology from Colorado State University. Dr. Sanderson arrived in Colorado by a circuitous route <br />involving natural resource management, research, and exploration in areas ranging from WestAfrica to <br />Alaska. He has been working on wetlands and rivers in the arid western US since 1994. <br />Republican River Water Conservation District: The Republican River Water Conservation District was <br />created by the General Assembly of the S'tate of Colorado under ,S'enate Bill 04-235 (see link below) for <br />the purpose of cooperating with and assisting the state to carry out its duty to comply with the <br />limitations and duties imposed zipon the state by the Republican River Compact.
