Gimbel <br />CWCB Director <br />Dan McAuliffe <br />CWCB Deputy Director <br />Agenda Item #7 - Office of Water Conservation & Drought Planning - <br />Presentation of the Colorado Foundation for Water Education FY09 Scope <br />of Work <br />Recommendation <br />The OWCDP recommends that the Board approve the Colorado Foundation for Water <br />Education's FY 2009 Scope of Work for foundation operations and water education and outreach <br />programs in the amount of $150,000. <br />Summary <br />The Colorado Foundation for Water Education (CFWE) has undergone some significant <br />transitions in the past year and is ready to begin FY 2009 with renewed energy and direction. <br />The following memo provides some background on the CFWE's FY 2008 activities and the <br />work we plan to accomplish in FY 2009. As always, thank you for your support of independent <br />water education in Colorado! <br />OVERVIEW OF FY 2008 <br />In the past year, the CFWE continued to deliver the programs and materials that our constituency <br />has come to expect. Highlights include: <br />• Publishing 2 editions of Headwaters magazine focused on Energy and Wildlife issues, <br />with a third edition highlighting Colorado's public lands due in late June <br />• A successful event honoring Ken and Ruth Wright for their leadership in water education <br />attended by over 75 people and raising almost $10,000 for the Foundation <br />• A survey of the more than 5,000 readers of Headwaters magazine to gauge their interest <br />in and experience with the publication <br />• Adding another to our Citizen's Guide series with the soon to be completed Guide to <br />Colorado Climate Change <br />• A second successful class of Water Leaders, benefiting nine up-and-coming Colorado <br />water resource professionals <br />Water Supply Protection • Watershed Protection & Flood Mitigation • Stream & Lake Protection • Water Supply Planning & Finance <br />Water Conservation & Drought Planning • Intrastate Water Management & Development <br />
