North Platte Basin Roundtable Meeting Minutes, 07.22.08
Parks District USFS Conference Room, 7-9pm
Minutes Submitted by Curran Trick.
Members/Guests Present
Mike Wright
Milce Allnutt
Jolu1 Rich
Paula Belcher
Tom Hackleman
Ty Wattenberg
Debbie Alpe
Kent Crowder
Barbara Vasquez
Pete Conovitz
Meeting called to order.
Approval of 06.17.08 Minutes:
John Rich motioned to approve the nunutes from 06.17.08.
Ty Wattenberg seconded the motion.
Minutes approved.
Citizens Guide to Colorado Water Laiv, Justice Gregory Hobbs:
The roundtable viewed the DVD from the Colorado Foundation for Water Education
entitled C'itizef~zs Guide to Colorado Water Lcn~~.
Ducks Unlimited application to the South Platte; Request for a letter of support:
DU is requesting a letter of support from the roundtable.
Not many members had a chance to review the DU application.
Kent can ask Greg Kernohan to make a presentation on the application at the next
meeting if the roundtable would like to hear it. DU is asking for a million dollars from
the statewide account.
Pete Conovitz heard Greg give a presentation at the S. Platte roundtable meeting, and
explained what he heard was included (but not limited to): recharge credits for SPWRAP,
wetland habitats, DOW projects, etc. It's everything they've done before, rolled into one
big project. It's a lot of money, and they can prioritize if the state won't fiend it all.
Kent C: We have time to table this now and review it in August; the application won't
come before the CWCB until Sept.
Barbara V: I think the presentation is a good idea, given how long the application is: 45
pages.
